After several injuries, Herens Cycling decided to focus on racing Classic Oslo rather than Zyte Talents while not being able to defend the chances of Matúš Bakoš in the Critérium la Grasse . In fact three teammates were injured at the start in Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur while Matúš Bakoš himself was injured in Zyte Talents and was therefore not able to defend his four consecutives titles.
‘This was a complicated season for the team and Matúš, but at the end he brings us the trophy back from Olso , which is a great accomplishment’ explained Oscar Camenzind.
1st Classic Oslo
4th Critérium la Grasse
‘After the two French races I was completely devastated, but Oscar came to me and motivated me again for the end of the season, which was a complete success’ told Matúš Bakoš . ‘When Markus Kogler got injured a week before Olso, it was difficult for the team but Max Schenck , who replaced him, did a great race as water carrier’ explained the Swiss manager. ‘Being able to support Matúš the whole day, knowing he could bring the trophy home was a fantastic motivation, explain the Max Schenck , the young Swiss rider.
This season might be the last chance for the Slovak to ride as leader in a Classic race for Herens Cycling . France or Norway will probably be the roads where he will lead his last fights as a captain.
